"Strength doesn't come from what you can do . It comes from overcoming the things you once though you couldn't. "

Empowered Fitness - Rachel Kolisi

What a privilege to have shot with the gorgeous Rachel Kolisi for the LAUNCH of my EMPOWERED FITNESS section for Golden FOX.

Looking after your body and celebrating it should be at the top of everyones list. This was the inspiration for this new Empowered Fitness section. We work so had to obtain our fitness goals and why not reward yourself with an empowering shoot.

Rachel is a MOM of 3 and the perfect example of an empowered woman!

Lets hear from her how she manages to feel empowered in the modern society we all live in.

Exercise/training has always been a priority for me, as a woman, and even more so after becoming a mother to 3 kids.
I have always been about strong women, and empowering women. In a society where woman are so often disrespected, disregarded and underestimated, I believe we owe it to ourselves and it's our responsibility to look after us. Exercise I believe plays a huge role in that, mentally and physically.
Once we become mothers we as women, will at some point stop making ourselves a priority. I'm 26 years old, with three children, two of Siya's adopted siblings and one of our own, I have learnt this lesson the hard way. An hour of Exercise daily was the only time I would take for myself not having to think of my kids or husband.
Exercise has been so good for my sanity - we all know that's needed when you're a mom!

This shoot with Simone has been so empowering. I always train in long gym pants and baggy shirts. (I'm not much of a body revealer specially after having a baby) Looking at these pictures Simone captured i find my self saying "damn girl!" I didn't know I looked like that.

I would, and have been encouraging any and every woman to do something for YOU. For me, this shoot with Simone has been something for me. In whatever stage of life your in. We women are always finding flaws in our physical appearance, comparing ourselves to unrealistic images the world praises.

I love when a woman realizes the strength she has, and owns it. That's beauty.
